Vegetarian Sausage Bread

Vegetarian Sausage Bread (6 slices)

1 hour prep and bake time


16oz pizza dough

1 cup pesto

8 oz Beyond Meat burger (or other meat substitute)

4 oz Buffalo mozzarella cut into pieces

1/4 shallot chopped

1 tbsp flour

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp Italian seasonings

1 tbsp garlic powder

1/2 tbsp sea salt

1 tsp celery salt


Preheat oven to 450° and pull dough out to become room temperature. Cover bottom of pan with olive oil and cook "meat" on medium. Add Italian seasonings, garlic powder, sea salt and celery salt into pan and incorporate evenly. Chop meat into crumbles and cook covered, on low, until brown. Put pan in fridge to cool down to about room temperature so it doesn't thin out dough.



Sprinkle flour onto clean surface and roll out dough to about 12" by 8". Spread pesto to cover entire dough, then sprinkle meat and cheese evenly on top of that. Roll from the bottom up, folding in the sides as you go. Brush oil on top of bread to brown and crisp. Place roll into a bread pan and bake, covered for 45 minutes or until middle is cooked through. I sprinkled extra seasonings on top for more flavor! Let the bread sit for 15-20 minutes or until cool enough to cut through.
